Carol holds a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology and has been practicing as a registered Psychologist for over 20 years. During this time, she has worked with clients across the lifespan at various settings including private practice, research, mental health and community sectors, as well as clinical psychology training. Carol has worked with a diverse range of clients including children, adolescents, youths, adults, older adults, families and couples, across a wide range of personal, emotional and behavioural issues and has now settled on helping clients aged 18+. Carol is well versed in various therapeutic modalities including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, creative modalities, and strength-based approaches.
Carol is interested to assist individuals with general psychological issues and enhance their resilience, but also has multilingual skills, delivers services in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and interest in working with migrants and clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Carol takes a respectful, compassionate, integrative approach to therapy, and tailors interventions to suit clients’ needs. Carol assists clients to understand and resolve psychological distress and move towards living more satisfying lives.
Carol is dedicated to providing evidence-based therapy, and had research published in international journals, and presented in academic settings, as well as international and national conferences on psychological assessments and interventions. She published a casebook documenting successful outcomes of evidence-based therapies and culturally appropriate assessments, and had taken up leadership roles in Psychology clinics, academia and professional training. Carol is registered with Medicare as a provider of clinical psychological therapy services and as such, clients will be eligible to obtain a rebate from Medicare or their health insurance provider, where applicable.
