Kate has experience as a psychologist in both the public and private systems, working with clients across a broad spectrum of personal and emotional issues including stress, anxiety and depression, adjustment, bereavement/suicide bereavement and couples therapy. Kate has previously worked for both Queensland Health and ACT Health, as well as in private practice.
She has received training and supervision in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focussed Brief Therapy, Couples Therapy and Reality Therapy. Kate believes strongly in client centred ideas of empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness and believes that the therapeutic relationship is a key part of the process.
Kate is passionate about helping clients obtain insight into their lives and finding strategies and techniques to assist with making changes to thinking and behaviours. She looks forward to working with individuals and couples.
