How long will my appointment go for?

Initial appointments are scheduled for 80 minutes and any following appointments are scheduled for 50 minutes.

Do I have to have a referral from my GP to see a psychologist?

You do not need a referral to see one of our psychologists however such appointments would not attract a Medicare rebate.

Will I get money back from Medicare?

You will be eligible for a Medicare rebate if you have a referral from your GP and a mental health care plan. Rebates range from approximately $89.65 – $131.65 depending on the type of appointment you attend and the psychologist you see.

How much does it cost?

Session prices vary depending on which psychologist you see. If you are after specific pricing please call us on 02 6262 6157.

What is the cancellation policy?

There is a 48-hour cancellation policy for appointments that cannot be attended (business hours only). You may cancel or reschedule without charge by emailing support@strategicpsychology.com.au prior to 48 business hours of your consultation time. We do not accept rescheduling or cancellations by phone. Cancellations or rescheduling within 48 business hours of your consultation will be charged the full fee unless a medical certificate is provided. Cancellation fees cannot be claimed through Medicare.

What kind of counselling do we provide?

We provide a range of counselling for different issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, eating disorders, phobias, addictions, anger management, pain management and many more. For specific information please contact us and speak to one of our friendly team.

We acknowledge that identifying a compatible psychologist is a nuanced process, as the suitability of a clinician’s experience and approach varies with each client’s unique set of circumstances and history. Our team is available to discuss your objectives before booking, though we cannot guarantee an ideal alignment.

Where is the closest place to park?

There is ample parking located directly across the road from our clinic. Entry is on London Circuit.

Do we provide after hours consultations?

Yes. Days and times may vary depending on the availability of our psychologists so please contact us on 02 6262 6157 to enquire about what times we have available at present.

Will my psychologist review my referral?

Psychologists commonly abstain from reviewing client information provided through referral letters or other documentation prior to the initial session. This practice is employed to mitigate the potential for preconceived biases, thereby ensuring an objective and impartial foundation for the therapeutic process.
