Joanne is a Registered Psychologist who completed an undergraduate psychology degree and who holds a Master of Professional Psychology. Joanne has a special interest in complex trauma, childhood trauma & trauma-related disorders. She is interested in working with adults & has experience working with people who are culturally and gender diverse background. Joanne also has an interest in working with couples.

Joanne aspires to create a respectful, warm presence, a compassionate and non-judgmental, sacred space so that she can work with her clients collaboratively to identify and fulfil their therapy goals. She works from a client-centred and trauma-informed perspective. Joanne aims to stand firmly with her clients in finding their authentic selves so, that they can move towards a life full of vitality.

Joanne is trained in psychological formulation and treatment planning which allows her to deeply understand her client’s psychological difficulties and tailor treatment to their needs. She has experience providing therapy to people with a range of conditions including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, borderline personality disorder and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Joanne’s primary training was in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and she has undertaken additional training in Acceptance And Commitment Therapy ACT), Schema Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). She is currently completing a year-long training in Somatic Psychotherapy.
