Fiona Spencer

Dr Fiona Spencer holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Psychology from the University of Sydney. She is a Senior Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Medicare Australia and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi).  

Since 1990 Fiona has studied or worked in psychology (with a few years in the public service). She has worked as a psychology research assistant, lecturer in educational psychology, school psychologist, and as a private practice therapist.

Fiona aims to facilitate a therapeutic relationship focused on building a positive rapport with clients in a caring and empathetic manner. The goal of her therapy sessions is to increase client self-understanding, teach coping skills for change, and encourage self-learning. In a client-focused approach each client will be assisted to improve their resilience and wellbeing.

Therapy methods she utilises include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Fiona assists children, adolescents and adults with anxiety and depression. She has experience working with clients with a GP or Specialist mental health care plan, from the NDIS (self-managed) and private clients.

Fiona works with clients aged 6+
