Ella McNiece

Registered Psychologist (Clinical Registrar)

BSc Psych (Hons), LLB (Hons), GDLP, PhD(ClinPsych) Candidate

Ella is a Registered Psychologist (Clinical Registrar) with a distinctive dual background in psychology and law. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) (Honours) and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University, and following her admission as a legal practitioner in 2021, she transitioned her focus to her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology.

Ella’s path has been shaped by more than academic achievement, her experiences working throughout her studies and time spent travelling have given her a genuine depth of lived experience that she brings into the therapeutic space.

Ella’s approach is warm, deeply empathetic and collaborative. She believes strongly in the value of sitting with clients in the hard moments, truly hearing their stories without rushing toward solutions. She aims to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen and understood, and where they can explore their experiences at their own pace. Ella draws on a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), tailoring her approach to the unique needs and goals of each individual.

Her background in law also brings a unique perspective to her clinical work, particularly for clients navigating complex systems or circumstances.

Ella works with children aged 6 to 12 (no adolescents) and adults 18 +
